L F Pumping (Europe) Ltd offers the most cost effective, and clean alternative for sand
drying. Sand is used in a wide range of market sectors and industries throughout the world, and in many situations
the moisture content needs to be accurately and precisely controlled to ensure high quality finishes of product.
With the fluctuations in price for natural resources used in traditional methods of drying, it is impossible to
control costs and therefore retail prices for this important process.
Sand Drying and Dryer Data
The LamiFlo™ Sand Drying System is a non-thermal sand dryer which negates the use of any
natural resources to generate heat. In traditional fluidised bed or rotary drum sand
dryers the major operating cost element is from the natural resources being used to heat the materials to drive off
the moisture content, and then subsequently energy is used to cool down the
materials to enable packaging of the product.
By comparison the LamiFlo™ Sand Drying
System drives off the moisture content with air and therefore needs neither heat source to dry nor energy to cool
the materials as it is delivered at ambient temperature thereby guaranteeing both savings in
operating costs, and a reduction of the carbon footprint. Bespoke systems can be designed to handle up to 500
tonnes per hour.

“Key Finding - In the developed world, industrial drying operations account
for anything between 10 and 25% of national energy consumption. The major costs for dryers are in
their operation rather than their capital costs.” Quote
