Biomass & Wood Chip, Pellets & Shavings Drying

With Fossil fuel prices set to increase by at least 50% over the
next 5 years, and an increased awareness and attention to the environment, these factors have driven rapid
development requirements for green or clean renewable energy generation. Biomass & Wood
is being used as a primary alternative source of energy generation. Whether the biomass or wood is
pelleted, chipped or process into shavings, the LamiFlo™ Drying systems offers a cost effective, and clean
alternative to drying.
L F Pumping (Europe) Ltd can boast that its growing range of
LamiFlo™ drying and material handling systems are the least resource intensive processing units available,
guaranteeing a cost effective, and environmentally friendly solution.
The LamiFlo™ Biomass & Wood Drying System is a non-thermal
dryer, which negates the use of any natural resources to generate heat, and offer a non-combustible solution to
drying combustible materials. In traditional fluidised bed or rotary drum drying the major operating cost is the
natural resources being used to heat the materials, which requires ‘safe spark systems’ to be incorporated. In
comparison the LamiFlo™ Biomass & Wood Drying System drives off the moisture content using air, and
therefore needs no heat source, thereby guaranteeing both operating savings and reduction of carbon footprint, and
yet bespoke systems can be designed to still handle up to 500 tonnes per hour.
How does the LamiFlo™ Biomass
& Wood Drying System compare with Traditional Drying Methods?
The LamiFlo System removes the surface moisture of the wood chips &
Biomass
What is the size of the
LamiFlo™ Biomass & Wood drying system?
Each individual dryer is uniquely designed to suit your
individual requirements, but generally 15 metres long and maximum of 3 metres wide. This can be compacted if
required.
How long from feeding
the hopper before dry biomass & wood is being emitted?
Depending on the input and target moisture content, but expect
dry ambient biomass & wood to be emitted after 8 seconds.
What is the Maintenance
Scheme of the LamiFlo™ Biomass & Wood drying system?
L F Pumping (Europe) Ltd takes full responsibility for
the LamiFlo™ Biomass & Wood drying system. The drying system will need annual inspections, but generally the
drying system can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, without
interruption.
